An extension to Kaka Point's sewerage system could future proof the area for future development.
The Clutha District Council will today consider a small extension to the sewerage north of Kaka Point.
The extended system would provide a more sustainable option for properties on septic tanks and would probably be used by a wedding venue development in the area.
Council staff recommend councillors agree to increase the sewerage budget by $35,000, to be funded from reserves, to build the extension.
Each connection would cost those wanting it just under $6000. It would require six connections for the extension to be viable.
