Tickets for a Southern production of the BBC comedy classic Are You Being Served? have been snapped up by theatre lovers.
South Otago Theatrical Society spokeswoman Nicole Bamford said the show was completely sold out before the curtain rose on last Thursday's opening-night performance.
"This is an achievement recorded only twice before in the 44-year history of the society."
Ms Bamford said the society had fielded several requests to hold an additional performance due to the season's selling out, but was unable to run any extra shows.
The production runs until Saturday at the theatrical society's clubrooms.
