Sport Clutha co-ordinator Mitch McRae said more than 450 people took part in the 5km run and walk during which they were pelted with brightly coloured dye.
''It's just a pretty fun concept ... You can't beat just going for a 5km walk or run and getting splashed with a different colour.''
It was good to see families get involved with the event, he said.
Based on the positive response, it was likely to be run again next year.
The event benefited Sporting Chance which provided assistance to children from disadvantaged circumstances to help them take part in sport. It funded participation and assisted with the basic costs of playing sport.
''Hopefully, a lot of that will come back into the community to those who may need assistance,'' Mr McRae said.
Colour stations were sponsored by local businesses.
