Balclutha police were yesterday investigating an alleged road-rage dispute after two vehicles collided on Cannibal Bay Rd in the Catlins on Sunday afternoon.
Constable Darren Huddleston said a four-wheel-drive carrying six people and a Mitsubishi car carrying two people collided about 3pm on a narrow part of the road, sending one vehicle rolling down a bank and causing minor injuries to the occupants.
Reports a dispute broke out are being investigated by police.
Const Huddleston said yesterday the exact cause of the crash was not yet known, as the investigation was still in progress, and it was too early to tell whether or not charges would be laid.
