Balclutha fashion designer Jennie Hasler-Jacobs was thrilled with her boot transformation when it crossed the cat walk as a dress during the Hokonui Fashion Design Awards on Saturday night.
"I was so excited to see her come out,'' Mrs Hasler-Jacobs said.
"She looked just like I imagined.''
Her design, created using second-hand boots, received the runner-up prize in the open Fantasia section of the awards.
She said the outfit almost resembled Cat Woman, but changed a little with "bat wings'' added as an extension on the night.
"And, of course, the whip.''
Her design was described as one of the "more risque'' looks on stage.
