Clinton Primary School teacher Alana Melrose said the first day at school on Monday was "awesome'' and very positive. The children enjoyed being able to use the pool as part of their school learning.
They were unable to at the end of last year because of the weather and extensive replacement of the roof, which was completed October.
Ms Melrose said the pupils were enthusiastic about learning to swim and were fortunate to have a heated pool.
The $127,000 project to fix the roof involved replacing wooden purlins with metal ones and the installation of new Clearlite material on the ceiling.
