Police concern for missing teen

Family and police are concerned about the whereabouts of a Balclutha teenager missing since Tuesday.

Hannah Jade King (15) was last seen leaving her Benhar home walking towards Dunedin at about 2pm with the intention of hitch-hiking there.

Senior Constable Tanya Grant said Hannah's mother contacted police after becoming worried with the lack of contact. Friends of the teenager have not seen her in Dunedin and she has not logged in to her Facebook account for several days.

Hannah is described as a tall European female of medium build with straight, dark-brown shoulder length hair and brown eyes.

When she left home she was wearing black tights, red shorts and a black puffer jacket. She was also carrying a black school backpack.

Anyone with information about Hannah should contact the Balclutha Police (03) 418-0203 or the Dunedin Police.
