Bourne died from head injuries 12 days after his and Michael Barltrop's vehicles collided on a blind brow on the Snow Farm access road on Good Friday during a reconnaissance run before the Race to the Sky hillclimb.
Peggy Bourne will be guest speaker at the Balclutha gathering on June 20. Her talk, ''Speed Bumps on the Road'' will reveal how she has coped since Bourne's death in 2003 and also tell of her life growing up as a missionary's daughter in Africa.
The evening is hosted by South Otago Rural Women New Zealand. South Otago branch president Hilary McNab said Mrs Bourne would also talk of her journey of finding herself and the inspiration she drew from the tough times.
She and her family have recently returned from several years in Kuwait and will share stories about living in a different culture.
