Nyree Dickie is buzzing with enthusiasm, not just for the event she and her team have spent the past 12 months planning, but in every aspect of her life.

Tonight, the 11th annual Positively Clutha Women's Week for Women will be launched at the Rosebank Lodge, with keynote speaker Pam Corkery.

"I'm looking forward to Pam, because it will be a good, entertaining night. It will be a mascara-running evening," she said.

In her second year as co-ordinator, Mrs Dickie heads a team of 11 people, who she said were the most diverse group of people she had ever worked with, and they worked together "harmoniously".

"We are a bunch of people bringing things together to entertain, motivate and educate rural women. We bring the keynote speakers that would normally only make it to Dunedin, and things that city people take for granted."

Mrs Dickie is dedicated to organising the event.

"My husband is on full-time meal duties at the moment, and we are living out of the ironing pile."

She has taken a month off from her job at Laser Electrical to bring everything to fruition.

Mrs Dickie worked for Balclutha Motors for 22 years. She left that job to have a child, then worked for the National Bank and Shand Thompson, before starting at Laser Electrical.

"It's job-share, which works really well," she said.
