Exciting and varied terrain is on offer for motorcycle trail riders taking part in the annual Clinton-Kaiwera trail ride next Saturday.
The event is a fundraiser for the Clinton Primary School and this year encompasses nine properties.
Three have not been used for the trail bike ride before and will offer riders some new terrain.
Three trails will be open. Two, each of about 40km, are suitable for intermediate riders and with some additional marked areas for advanced riders.
For junior to experienced riders and ATVs there is a 15km trail, and a ''pee-wee'' trail for young riders.
This year, the base for the ride will be at Andrew and Chichi Taylor's property, at Gaws Rd about 7km south of Clinton.
Organiser Geoff Dodd said the ride offered two ''really good'' vantage points, one looking back towards Balclutha and the other towards Gore and West Otago.
The ride has been held for many years. Mr Dodd said it regularly attracted between 500 and 600 riders, and raised $10,000 to $12,000 for the school.
