Nearly seven months of hard work has paid off for organisers of the Kaitangata Oscar group.
The Out of School Care and Recreation (Oscar) programme begins on Tuesday.
Programme manager Michelle Ramsay said four part-time staff were employed and with CYF's approval, the programme could offer Winz assistance.
High-visibility jackets were donated to Oscar and the Kaitangata Playcentre by Fonterra and would be used for a "walking bus" from Kaitangata Primary to the centre.
Last month, funding and Child Youth and Family approval was granted, and potential staff were interviewed.
Oscar programmes are for primary school children aged between 5 and 13. The programmes will be run in the Kaitangata Playcentre building. The programme starts at 2.55pm and runs until 5.30pm.
