A hay baler caught fire between Clinton and Balclutha this evening.
Firefighting crews were called to Fleming Rd in the Clutha district about 7.45pm after reports a baler and hay were on fire.
A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman said about 2.5ha of "stubble" caught fire.
Crews were at the scene for about an hour.
