A plan for Balclutha is now open for feedback from the public.

Clutha District Council chief executive Steve Hill said in a statement the council was working hard on its community plans for Balclutha, Waihola and Milton.

Titled "Our Place", the plans are to help determine the priorities for each community. It also is to provide the council with assistance on implementing its living, working and economic development strategies.

Mr Hill said the council outlined four main topics in the plans — walking and cycling linkages, the town entrance, the War Memorial Hall and parks and reserves.

"Now we want to know what you think of them, what we have missed and anything else you want to tell us."

Clutha Mayor Bryan Cadogan urged people to take provide feedback on the proposals.

Now was the time for the public to have their say, he said.

"It’s time we all talked about our vision and priorities for our community."

Feedback could be made in an online submission form at the council’s website or by attending one of several "Our Place" events in the next few months.

The council was also holding "Cafe Conversations" at  cafes in Balclutha over the next week.
