Organisers of the Kaitangata Car Show and Run are trying to decide who will be the recipient of money raised in the upcoming fifth annual event.
Kaitangata Car Show and Run secretary Louise McLaren said money raised went to different community groups every year.
Last year, the $8000 raised was split between the Kaitangata Community Centre Committee and the Balclutha Scouts.
Ms McLaren said the show was started to help children from Kaitangata.
However, as the event grew, a decision was made to reach out to the wider South Otago community.
The organising committee will meet this weekend to discuss potential recipients of the money.
"We just take on board what we've come across in the community and sit down as a committee to see who is really in need.''
The committee urged to the public to nominate worthy recipients.
"We've got a couple of ideas ourselves, but it's good to get a wee bit of a framework on who is out there,'' Ms McLaren said.
This will be the event's fifth year and organisers were considering ideas from the community on how to improve it.
"We're just hoping to jazz things up a bit.''
The community backing for the show was huge, she said.
The fifth Kaitangata Car Show and Run will be held on November 5.
