Entries for the 2012 Catlins Great Escape bike journey have opened.
The event runs for two days in April, covering 160km in total from the Nugget Point lighthouse to the Waipapa Point lighthouse.
Morning registrations will begin at Kaka Point on Saturday, April 28, before participants are transferred to Nugget Point where the journey begins.
Tourism Catlins project co-ordinator Kim Dodds said the course would offer "stunning" views from privately owned and Department of Conservation land.
The first day of the journey covers Nugget Point to Cannibal Bay, Owaka, Purakaunui Falls, and Florence Hill before finishing at Tautuku.
The second day will take riders through the Catlins Coastal Rainforest, along the Southern Scenic Route to Waikawa, to Curio Bay before ending at the Waipapa Point lighthouse.
