On the ball for 50 years

Retiring president Jenny Ritchie (left) and long-standing member Val Cullen cut the cake at the South Otago Women's Golf Sub-association 50th jubilee at Rosebank Lodge in Balclutha yesterday.

More than 50 guests attended the celebrations, including past and present members, and representatives from Otago and North Otago women's golf clubs.

The one-day celebrations began with the AGM selecting Ruth Stiven, from Tapanui, as the club's new president, before a luncheon and a talk from guest speaker Anne Mitchell, a local archer who represented New Zealand at the last Commonwealth Games.
