POUNAWEA: The third Tri Pounawea multisport event will be held on November 5.
The triathlon/duathlon will take competitors near Pounawea township, and around Catlins Lake.
The triathlon comprises a 500m swim in the Pounawea estuary, a 24km lakeside bike ride and a 6km run, while the duathlon consists of a 3.5km run, 24km lakeside ride and 6km run.
Organiser Anne-Marie Holland said it was fast becoming a popular annual event. Proceeds from the event would be channelled back into the community.
The race starts at midday and follows the same course as in past years. A prizegiving will be held about 3pm, with all entrants eligible for spot prizes.
Late registrations ($10) will be accepted until 11am on the day.
Any cancellation of the event will be broadcast on local radio stations 91.3FM and 93.7FM.
