The Clutha District Council has appointed a new district development manager, who takes up the role next month.
Jill Borland replaces Julie Pearse, who left the district council in February.
A Southlander by birth, Ms Borland spent much of her childhood and early working years in Otago before moving to Christchurch where she worked in management, marketing, business consultancy, education and hospitality.
Her qualifications include a bachelor of arts degree and graduate diplomas in event management and marketing.
Chief executive Charles Hakkaart said Ms Borland had been appointed to a 15-month fixed-term contract while the council reviewed the strategic direction of its district development activities.
Councillor Hamish Anderson was appointed chairman of the district development board. He takes over from former councillor Jeff Seymour, who stood down following last year's local body elections.
