A woman has been taken to hospital after the rental car in which she was travelling hit a bank and overturned on Glenorchy-Queenstown Rd.
The crash, which occurred about 12km from Queenstown about 10.30am today, blocked the left-hand lane for more than an hour.
The car, which was carrying two men and two women, was travelling towards the resort at the time of the accident.
No other vehicle was involved.
The injured woman was taken by ambulance to Lakes District Hospital.
