The pair put  Queenstown’s reputation as New Zealand’s adventure capital  to good use recently, for a good cause.

The Whatus were in the resort to tackle a mammoth challenge — an action-packed day involving bungy jumps and  a canyon swing, jet boat trip and luge.

The adventure was all to raise money for Lymphoma Cancer Research in New Zealand.

Mr Whatu was diagnosed with lymphoma of the brain about four years ago. He received chemotherapy, which damaged the neural pathways in his brain.

As of yesterday he had raised $1685 towards his goal of $5000.

Donations can be made until May 24 at www.leukaemia.net.nz
