An Arthurs Point resident had his driving licence suspended for alleged drink driving.
Police said the 28-year-old Queenstown resident blew an excess breath alcohol level of 826mcg when he was stopped by officers on Templeton Way, Queenstown, at 1.50am on Sunday.
Senior Sergeant Paula Enoka, of Queenstown, confirmed it was a random police check and that his driving had not drawn attention to him.
Yesterday morning, a 25-year-old Australian, who lives in Queenstown, was stopped by police on Shotover Street at 2.20am.
Police said he recorded an excess breath alcohol level of 476mcg.
Snr Sgt Enoka said both men will appear in court later this month.
• At noon yesterday a United Kingdom national crashed on the Glenorchy-Queenstown Road.
"He has hit black ice and been unable to control the vehicle. He crossed the road and hit the bank on the opposite side," Snr Srgt Enoka said.
The driver was suffering from a "sore chest from the seatbelt."
He was transferred to Lakes District Hospital for further treatment, along with two other passengers who were travelling in the vehicle.
Investigations are continuing and police are unable to confirm whether charges will be laid at this stage.
