Tourists freed after crashing into tree

Three tourists had to be freed by emergency services after their vehicle crashed into a tree near Queenstown.

Emergency services were called to the Glenorchy-Queenstown Road, near Fisherman's Lane, at 3.35pm yesterday and got the driver and two passengers out.

The trio had minor to moderate injuries, according to police.

Fire crews from Queenstown and Glenorchy attended, as well as two ambulances from Queenstown.

A police spokeswoman, of the Wellington Police National Headquarters, said the crash was being investigated.
