Skyline Luge International, of Queenstown, won the ANZ Best Large Business category, while the Supreme Award, from all the category winners, went to Canterbury-based software developer Seequent, which earlier won ANZ Best Medium Business.
Skyline, a tourism pioneer since 1966, won because of significant offshore investments, its strategic focus, phenomenal growth and significant revenue, judge Gavin Haworth said.
In addition to luge rides in Queenstown and Rotorua, Skyline has spread to six international locations and the judges were impressed with its large-scale international tourism facilities and ambition in markets as diverse as South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and the UK.
