Best Served Chilled guitarist Mika Craggs, who was named top guitarist at the Southern Schools Jazz Competition in Invercargill on Friday, performed in Queenstown earlier this year.

Ella MacBeth - one of two pupils from Best Served Chilled selected to perform with the All Stars Band following August's Southern Jam Youth Jazz Festival in Blenheim - was named best saxophonist. The band won best jazz combo, beating eight other high school bands.

Best Served Chilled will perform publicly in Queenstown on Saturday, during the 2016 Queenstown JazzFest.

The High School Bands Showcase, also featuring All Saints' College jazz band, of New South Wales, will play at Earnslaw Park on Saturday between 11am and 2pm.
