Part of the village centre at Arrowtown’s Millbrook Resort is about to undergo a $4 million-plus redevelopment.

The forecourt entry and golf cart areas will be upgraded, and two new buildings to house carts will be built on the current practice green, which will be relocated along with the first tee block.

The work, which includes a major upgrade of the golf shop and new plantings, paving and stone walls, is about to start, and is expected to be completed by December, according to a statement on the resort’s website.

The upgrade was the first stage of what was expected to be a full redevelopment of Millbrook’s village centre to cope with more members and visitors.

The village centre, including food and beverage facilities, dates back to the early 1990s when the golf course resort was originally developed.

The statement said the development was part of ongoing investment in the resort, which included its nearly-complete redevelopment of the Mill Farm area, encompassing nine new golf holes and two residential neighbourhoods.
