How do pinot noirs from Queenstown’s Gibbston wine region compare with some of the best pinots from around the world?

The question’s being posed at Kinross’ Cellar Door tomorrow night.

The event — ‘Gibbston vs The World — Battle of the Pinot Noirs’ — is part of Kinross’ fourth harvest celebration.

Viticulturist Timbo Deaker, wine writer John Saker, winemaker Christopher Keys and master of wine Robin Tedder will join event-goers in blind tastings of four local and four overseas pinots.

The event — hosted by Kinross’ GM of wine Thomas Moschetta — runs from 7 till 8.30pm.

The wine tasting only is $79 and the tasting with a one-course wine-matched dinner to follow is $119 — tickets via rb.gy/34ya7x

The harvest celebration runs till June 26.
