One person has died and another has been transported to Dunedin Hospital following an incident at Closeburn, near Queenstown, this afternoon.
Police said the survivor had ''critical injuries'' and was being transported by helicopter.
A scene guard is in place and WorkSafe will be informed.
The incident happened just before 4pm at Closeburn Station, about 11km west of the resort.
Earlier, police said a person had been trapped by a truck.
Police, fire and ambulance attended the scene, with a crane used to help move the vehicle.
"Police are still informing next of kin and as such there is no information on the identities of those involved,'' a statement issued by the Police Media Centre said.
