Gold medal-winning skier Adam Hall became the inaugural Wanaka Hall of Fame inductee in a surprise announcement at the end of a homecoming parade to welcome back the town's Winter Olympians on Saturday.

Hall won gold in the adaptive ski standing slalom discipline at the Paralympic Games in Vancouver in March.

The crowd of hundreds clapped and cheered him during the parade.

Wanaka's Winter Olympic team representatives Mitchell and Kendall Brown, and Rebecca Sinclair, plus their snowboarding coaches Tom Willmott and Michael Bell, were also given a warm reception.
