A Chinese national has been been charged with careless driving causing injury after a crash on Glenorchy-Routeburn Rd yesterday.
Emergency services were called at 6.20pm after the 28-year-old lost control of the vehicle and hit a bank on the left-hand side of the road before striking the tree.
One passenger was taken to Lakes District Hospital by helicopter with a suspected broken cheekbone, while the driver and a second passenger were taken by ambulance to hospital with head abrasions.
No other vehicles were involved.
