A man has been arrested and charged with drug offences after an armed police operation at Lakes Hayes Estate this morning.

The man, who was arrested and charged with drugs offences, appeared in Queenstown District Court today.

A police spokesperson said the 33-year-old was arrested on Red Cottage Drive as part of an "ongoing investigation into the sale and supply methamphetamine in the Queenstown area".

"The man has also been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition."

Police, including officers from the Armed Offenders Squad, found a quantity of methamphetamine and cash.

"Queenstown Police are committed to disrupting the sale and supply of methamphetamine in the community, and holding those responsible to account."
