The Lions Club has given $6500 to Upper Clutha Senior Citizens, after the recent successful launch of a 2012 heritage calendar "A Walk in the Past".
The funds will be used to take the 58 members of the senior citizens club on social outings and visits around the district.
The calendar was published with the assistance of senior citizens Stan and Elsie Kane, who are both in their 90s.
The funds were presented by Lions president Pat Hart to Upper Clutha Senior Citizens president Lynne Fegan at a function held in Kate and John Coe's Golf Course Rd garden on Thursday morning.
The function was attended by 48 club members.
Mrs Fegan said the gift was "very magnanimous".
"This is a wonderful gift for a very special group within our community," she said.
