The grace period for travellers returning from Queenstown was extended by 24 hours to midnight on Friday, as holidaymakers found themselves unable to get home before the cut-off. Air New Zealand added seven services to cope with the almost 600 North Island residents unable to get seats out of the resort during the initial domestic travel bubble. There are no more flights scheduled from Queenstown until at least Wednesday and only one from Dunedin Airport to Christchurch on Monday.
