Several people have been taken to Lakes District Hospital with minor injuries following a boating incident on Lake Wakatipu this afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said police and St John staff were alerted about 1pm, after a small boat appeared to hit rocks on the lake side near the Devil’s Staircase on State Highway 6.
Several other boats assisted in taking the occupants to a waiting ambulance and the damaged boat was towed to a nearby wharf.
