Holiday Inn operator for planned hotel

An operator has been named for a 182-room hotel proposed for Remarkables Park in Queenstown.

IHG announced in a media statement yesterday it had signed an agreement with the property's owner, QLong Investments Ltd, to operate the hotel under the Holiday Inn banner from 2021.

Mountain Scene revealed in March that Qianlong Farms Ltd had lodged a resource consent application for the five-storey hotel, which would be located on Red Oaks Dr, near the Ramada and Wyndham Garden hotels.

The statement said the Holiday Inn Queenstown Remarkables Park would be a ''flagship'' for the hotel chain in New Zealand.

IHG will also operate the Holiday Inn Express hotel, now under construction in Stanley St, in the resort's town centre, after its expected completion next year.
