The Glenorchy Queenstown Road has reopened this morning after a rockfall near Closeburn overnight covered the road with debris.
A Queenstown Lakes District Council spokesman said contractors had shifted the debris from the rockfall, which occurred near Fishermans Lane.
A geotechnical inspection found no further stabilisation work was required, and the road was reopened at 9.30am.
