Garden wonders of Wakatipu

Chantecler garden will feature in the Wakatipu Plunket Garden Tour in December as well as in a preview event later this month. Chantecler is a New Zealand Gardens Trust four star-rated garden in Lower Shotover.

The self-drive garden tour will include Frankton's Zoological Gardens for the first time.

The gardens, which feature animals and birds in a parkland setting on the banks of the Kawarau River, is one of the stops on the annual Plunket Garden Tour on December 4.

Tickets ($35) for the fundraising event went on sale at the weekend, with every ticket-holder eligible to win a $1000 garden makeover voucher from Mitre 10 Mega Queenstown.

Those who buy a ticket before October 29 have the opportunity to visit the Chantecler garden at a Spring Preview event on that day.

Tickets are available at Mitre 10 Mega, Columbus Cafe, Mobile Massage (2C Shotover St), the Plunket rooms in Henry St and online at eventfinda.co.nz.
