It'll be anything but a quiet affair.

An upcoming concert at Arrowtown’s Athenaeum Hall’s promising to be a wild, toe-tapping and emotionally-laden journey for the audience.

‘Across the Great Divide’, featuring traditional, contemporary and original songs and tunes from Celtic and Americana roots, is described as a true folk roots fusion.

It features Americana dobro player, guitar master and composer Tony Burt, Karen Jones, on celtic harp, vocals, and guitar, and Scandinavian soprano sax player Hanna Wiskari Griffiths, who bring together instruments and genres which seldom grace the same stage.

They weave Celtic airs and Americana traditions into high-energy dance tunes with social comment and heritage.

Currently in the middle of their second tour with Arts on Tour New Zealand, Across the Great Divide’s message reflects their love and respect for the shared traditions, friendship, community, unity and whakapapa.

It’s stopping in Arrowtown next Friday, from 7.30pm — tickets cost $20, via Humanitix.
