Police confirmed one of their vehicles was involved in a "nose to tail" about 2pm on Frankton Rd.
No-one was injured.
A two-car collision on Kingston Rd, near Peninsula Rd, resulted in queues for motorists to the Jacks Point turnoff. The accident was reported at 2.25pm but police would not say how many people were involved in the collision or their nationality.
One person with moderate injuries was transported to hospital and the road was closed for a short time.
At 4.30pm, a car rolled 5km from the summit, on the Queenstown side of the Crown Range.No injuries were reported and the road was also closed for a short time.
And just before 5pm, two cars collided at the State Highway 6-Tucker Beach Rd intersection, by the Quail Rise neighbourhood. Two people with moderate injuries were transported by ambulance to hospital.
As reported in the Otago Daily Times in January, a slip road for the hazardous Queenstown intersection still does not have NZ Transport Agency funding approval and it could be the end of the year before the upgrade is complete, if at all.
St John did not respond to an ODT media request in relation to injuries sustained in the four crashes.
