The total number of confirmed measles cases in Queenstown remains at 15 as the Southern District Health Board works to contain the resort town's outbreak.
Southern DHB medical officer of health Dr Susan Jack said in a media statement on Monday night that she wanted everyone in the community to help stop the spread of measles and protect those who could not be vaccinated due to age, allergies and medical conditions.
"If you are a contact of a confirmed case and asked to be in isolation then please follow those instructions. Or, if you suspect you might have measles, you need to isolate yourself until you know for sure," Dr Jack said.
"Don’t go to the medical centre or emergency department, call ahead for advice or call Healthline on 0800 611 116.”
Unvaccinated people who had contact with a measles case needed to be isolated for 14 days, and could be contagious before they showed symptoms, she said.
• A drop-in vaccination clinic will operate in Queenstown on Tuesday at Lakes District Hospital, 20 Douglas St, Frankton, from 3.30pm until 8pm.
