A stunning home in Dalefield’s Hawthorne Estate is on the market for the first time.

Built 10 years ago for the vendors, the property, at 64 Domain Rd, is being marketed by Bayleys sales associates Sarena Glass and Sarah McBride — it’s for sale by deadline private treaty, closing September 16.

Sitting on 1.5 hectares, Glass says it’s one of the larger landholdings in Hawthorne Estate, but due to the carefully-curated landscaping, featuring large, well-established trees and low-lying natives, "it doesn’t look overwhelming".

North-facing to maximise sun, the property stares straight up at Coronet Peak — established hedging provides screening and privacy from neighbours — while from the south it enjoys views of the Remarkables, too.

The property, Glass says, has been carefully positioned to provide privacy and space, with a secure, gated entrance and expansive courtyard.

The home, which sits in the middle of the ‘golden triangle’, includes an open-plan kitchen and dining room, which flows into a second lounge, featuring an open fire.

It features four bedrooms — the master looks directly up at Coronet — three with ensuites, along with four-car garaging, one of which is being used as a gym.

Glass says the property’s designed with entertaining in mind.

Along with a covered outdoor fireplace and entertainment space, a separate, externally accessed dwelling is home to a fully kitted-out private gin bar, leading to a second outdoor entertainment area, featuring braziers, and a large, open lawn.

Additionally, there’s a separate "wellness space", at the other end of the home, which includes an infrared sauna, plunge pool and spa.

Glass says there’s been strong interest in the property, including from the east coast of Australia and Auckland, and she is expecting it to fetch a healthy price.

"We’re getting some good-quality viewings, everybody is qualified to make the purchase; it’s just going to be a matter of who wants it the most, and who’s prepared to go to paper."
