Queenstown residents awoke this morning to a sprinkling of snow on the tops for the second time in eight days, with this picture showing Ben Lomond rising above Queenstown Hill from the Shotover Country subdivision.
MetService meteorologist Claire Flynn said a cold front moving up from the southwest had brought another pool of cold air, resulting in overnight showers and a dusting of snow at high levels.
Snow in midsummer was ''not unheard of'' in the Southern Lakes area, Ms Flynn said.
