Now in its 13th year, Bookabach’s ‘Bach of the Year’ list is based on criteria including a 4.5 or higher star rating, positive guest reviews, and standout amenities.
Coming in seventh place is Dalefield’s four-bedroom ‘Speargrass Lodge’, which also includes a pool, cedar spa, alfresco dining area and outdoor fireplace, followed by Queenstown’s ‘Castle Cliff Lodge’, a six-bedroom home which includes a sauna, spa, gym, and games room and bar (above), along with an outdoor fire.
In ninth place is Lower Shotover’s three-bedroom ‘Maunga View’, while ‘The Stowaway’, a four-bedroom lodge-inspired home overlooking the Shotover River, rounds out the top 10.
In first place on this year’s list is ‘Harakeke’, at Kapiti Coast’s Waikanae Beach, described as a remarkable four-bedroom home with direct beach access, which boasts inside and outside baths and a deluxe hot outdoor shower.
