Bayleys Queenstown’s recently been named the cream of the crop in their category by the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand.

At the national awards earlier this month, the office, headed up by CEO Stacy Coburn and managing director David Gubb, was named residential office of the year and also took out the award for sales volume in the medium-sized category.

"That’s [against] every other agency in the country, so when you line up against the rest of NZ, and you get recognised like that ... it’s a great accolade to receive; it means you’re doing something right."

He also notes Bayleys Southland office, of which they are part owners, won the national growth award.

Also recognised at the REINZ Awards was Housemart Queenstown’s Megan Cartwright, who was named ‘Rising Star of the Year’ in the residential property manager category.

Bayleys Wānaka was named small residential office of the year, and won the sales volume award in the small-sized category.

Additionally, at last Friday’s Bayleys National Conference and Awards, in Auckland, Gubb received an award for 30 years’ service, Jimmy Allen won the national residential salesperson award, and the most completed deals for a medium franchise, and they won the national auction award, for the fourth consecutive year.

While Coburn’s still Bayleys’ group operations manager, the recent addition of ‘CEO’ to his job title — which he quips stands for "can’t eat out" — is reflective of the scale the agency’s achieved over the past decade or so, following a merger acquisition with Locations Realty.
