A man was processed for alleged drink-driving tonight after his vehicle crashed and overturned on a bank near Frankton.

Constable Terry Wood, of Queenstown, told the Otago Daily Times at the scene, the man was "driving out of the gravel pit, he's driven up the bank and lost control of the vehicle''.
The incident, just after 7pm, occurred off State Highway 6 down from the Shotover Bridge, near the resort's sewage treatment plant.

Const Wood confirmed a female passenger sustained injuries and was transferred to Lakes District Hospital.

He was not able to confirm the man's age or nationality.
