A woman is being transferred to Dunedin Hospital with gunshot wounds after what is understood to be an accidental shooting in a residential subdivision in Queenstown this afternoon.
A St John spokesman confirmed a woman has suffered moderate injuries as a result of the incident and is now being flown by helicopter from Queenstown Lakes Medical Centre to Dunedin Hospital.
Armed police and an ambulance were called to an address in Shotover Country, at 1.11pm.
A police media spokeswoman said officers arrived on the scene a short time ago.
