Film classes will be held this week in Queenstown as part of the New Zealand Film Commission's national road trip.
The commission has partnered with The Inspiring Stories Charitable Trust to teach young Wakatipu people how to write, film and edit their own stories.
The one-day workshop will involve 20 people at the Otago Polytechnic Queenstown campus, from 8.45am to 4pm.
Registrations will be taken on the trust website, www.inspiringstories.org.nz.
The workshop is part of a tour that has included 23 towns and cities, involving hundreds of young people from ages 13-18.
The charitable trust will also host a community screening of award-winning national short films at Wakatipu High School tomorrow, from 7pm. Tickets cost $25 per person.
Discussion about the films is encouraged.
Half of the entry profits will go to the high school's Angelo programme.
