A 27-year-old Dunedin woman was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer in Queenstown early yesterday.
Acting Sergeant Logan Dickie said the woman was arguing with her partner in the Queenstown mall at 12.30am.
A police officer intervened and the woman "lost the plot", he said.
She will appear in the Queenstown District Court today.
• A 26-year-old Dunedin woman is in hospital with a broken leg after she was hit by a car in Queenstown on Saturday.
Acting Sgt Dickie said the woman, and her friend, were crossing the road on the corner of Camp and Shotover Sts at 11.30am.
Both women were struck by a car being driven by a Queenstown man.
Acting Sgt Dickie said the woman was transferred by ambulance to Dunedin Hospital.
Her friend was uninjured.
No charges had yet been laid, Acting Sgt Dickie said.
• A 28-year-old Queenstown man spent a cold night in the bush around Lake Sylvan, near Glenorchy after becoming lost on Saturday.
Acting Sgt Dickie said the man had been fishing but when he did not return on Saturday night his partner phoned police.
A search and rescue team was alerted but the man contacted police before the search began.
The man was cold but unharmed, Acting Sgt Dickie said.
