Organiser Sharlene Inch told the Queenstown Times on Saturday there were plans to bring the market back once a month between June and September, with the winter market to be held in the St Peter's Church hall.
"It's to be confirmed ... but we're looking at introducing something for winter once a month.
"It will be a later market, run later, and will probably be held on the first Saturday of each month."
This is the fifth year the market has been running and Mrs Inch said it had continued to grow in popularity.
"We always start off with a hiss and a roar because of all the produce [available in early summer]."
The market had become a regular stop for locals and visitors.
"A lot of people have got used to being able to get produce like Stewart Island salmon - it's only available through the market.
"People want to be able to get that on a regular basis.
"We are a true, authentic farmers market - we only get produce that's from within the region; there is no changing of hands; there is no middle man."
Mrs Inch hoped to introduce a "loyalty card" for the 2012-13 summer market, which would have an "incentive rewards system" built into it.
