"Sure, it is me getting the award but I could not do this without a good team around me.
"This is recognition of what we have all done," the managing director of MedRecruit said.
Dr Hazledine (33) started MedRecruit in 2006, specialising in working with doctors to place them in locum and permanent positions so they could have a career and lifestyle.
The award judges said Dr Hazledine had transformed the medical industry to give doctors back their lifestyles and in doing so, had positively affected the provision of healthcare throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Chief judge Greg Cross, from Icehouse, said the finalists were the most articulate group the panel had ever judged.
"It's always hard to compare one year with the next but across the board, the level of presentation and the standard of the businesses was the best we've seen.
"As is always the case, the passion of these people is phenomenal."
The young entrepreneur category, in particular, was hotly contested, he said.
Dr Hazledine was named a finalist in 2008 and said the judges gave him good advice then which he applied to successfully grow MedRecruit.
"It's exciting to be running a fast-growing business that is having such a positive impact for our clients and beyond.
"That's what keeps me focused every day," he said.
