Wastebusters was the talk of the town yesterday, as supporters got to grips with the news their nationally recognised recycling centre has lost a major kerbside recycling contract to an Auckland-owned, Queenstown-based operator, Smart Environmental.
Kahu Youth group has been given permission for a march in support of Wastebusters as part of tomorrow's Wanakafest parade.
Facebook and websites show many people are supporting the charitable society.
Wastebusters staff member Ivy Willmott yesterday said anyone planning to march tomorrow should assemble at Cinema Paradiso at 4.30pm, behind the Wastebusters truck.
Marchers could dress up in Wastebusters' colours of orange and black and carry banners, she said.
